Where can I download Ynara?
Ynara is free on the App Store for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch. If search doesn’t find it yet, use the direct link: apps.apple.com/app/id6778617108.
What is Ynara, in one sentence?
Ynara is a private second brain — you capture thoughts, photos, and voice notes, and it helps you reflect on them, connect related memories, and ask questions, all on your own devices.
Where are my memories stored? Is it backed up?
Your memories are stored on your device and synced through your own iCloud account (Apple CloudKit). As long as iCloud is enabled, they're backed up by Apple and kept in sync across your iPhone, Apple Watch, and Mac. We never store your data on our own servers.
Does “Ask your memories” send my data to the cloud?
No. On supported devices, Ynara uses Apple Intelligence running on-device to phrase answers from your memories. Your captured content is not sent to our servers or to any third-party AI service.
Why don't I see reflections or answers yet?
Ynara starts empty for new users — it never seeds fake data. Capture a handful of memories and the Oracle's reflections, Memory Palace connections, and answers will have something to work with. On-device intelligence also requires a recent device with Apple Intelligence enabled.
My devices aren't syncing. What should I check?
Make sure each device is signed into the same iCloud account, that iCloud Drive is on, and that the devices have a network connection. Syncing can take a moment after you save a memory.
How do I connect or disconnect two memories?
In the Memory Palace, drag from one node to another to create a connection. To remove one, tap the line between two memories — an Undo option appears in case it was accidental.
How do I pin a memory?
Open any memory and tap the pin, or use the pin control in the Library. Pinned memories appear in a dedicated Pinned section and rise to the top of your Oracle.
Why did Ynara ask for microphone or camera access?
Only when you record a voice or video memo for the first time. Ynara doesn't request these permissions at launch — you can grant or deny them in your device's Settings at any time, and the rest of the app keeps working without them.
Can I switch between light and dark themes?
Yes. In Profile, choose System, Light, or Dark. Your choice applies across iPhone and Mac.
Does Ynara require an account or subscription?
No account and no login. Your memories stay in your iCloud, so there's nothing to sign up for.
How do I delete a memory or all my data?
Delete individual memories within the app at any time. To remove everything, delete the app and clear its data from your iCloud storage in your device's iCloud settings. Because we don't hold your data, there's nothing on our end to delete.
