Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 15, 2026

The short version: Ynara has no accounts and no servers of our own. Your memories stay on your device and in your personal iCloud, and the intelligence that reflects on them runs on your device. We don't track you, run ads, or sell your data — ever.

1. Who this applies to

This policy describes how the Ynara app ("Ynara", "we", "us") handles your information on iPhone, Apple Watch, and Mac. By using Ynara, you agree to this policy.

2. Data we collect and how it's stored

Ynara is designed to keep your data in your hands. The information you enter and generate — including notes, photos, videos, voice memos, tags, feelings, connections between memories, and your profile — is stored:

This data is associated with your personal Apple ID and iCloud account. We do not operate our own servers and we never receive, store, or have access to your data. We cannot see your memories.

3. On-device intelligence

Ynara's reflections, patterns, and the “Ask your memories” feature are produced using intelligence that runs on your device, including Apple Intelligence and Apple's Foundation Models where available. Your memories are used locally to generate these results. Your captured content is not sent to us, and it is not sent to any third-party AI or cloud model. Where on-device intelligence is unavailable, the related features are simply limited or turned off rather than moving your data off the device.

4. Camera, photos & microphone

With your permission, Ynara uses your camera and microphone to capture photos, videos, and voice memos, and your photo library to attach images you choose. These permissions are requested only when you use the related feature — for example, the microphone is requested the first time you record — not at launch. Anything you capture is stored with that memory in your own iCloud, exactly like the rest of your data. You can grant or revoke these permissions at any time in your device's Settings; the rest of the app keeps working without them.

5. Location data

If you allow it, Ynara may tag a memory with where it was created to help you recall context. Location is used only at the moment of capture, is stored with that memory in your own iCloud, and is never sent to us or to any third party. You can deny or revoke location access at any time in your device's Settings; location tagging simply won't be available without it.

6. What we don't do

7. Data you choose to export or share

Ynara lets you export or share your memories. When you do, the file is created on your device and you decide where it goes (for example, through the iOS share sheet). Anything you share after exporting is under your control and outside the scope of this policy.

8. Children's privacy

Ynara is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them. Because data never leaves your own devices and iCloud, no personal information is transmitted to us in any case.

9. Your control & deletion

You can delete individual memories within the app at any time. To remove all app data, delete the app and remove its data from your iCloud storage in your device's iCloud settings. Because we don't hold your data, there is nothing on our end to request deletion of.

10. Third-party services

Ynara relies on Apple iCloud/CloudKit for storage and sync, and on Apple Intelligence / Foundation Models for on-device intelligence. Your use of these is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not integrate any other third-party data services.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of Ynara after changes means you accept the revised policy.
