Is Viral Visual Lab free? What am I paying for?
The app is free from Recon6 Studios — it’s a workflow helper, not a Grok subscription. You need your own xAI API key; you pay xAI when you generate images or video. X posting uses your X developer app (free tier limits apply). We don’t sell credits or host your vault on our servers.
Where do I get an xAI API key?
Sign in at console.x.ai, create an API key, and paste it in Viral Visual Lab → Settings. Image and video generation require this key.
Why did my video generation stop or fail?
Try a shorter length (10–15 seconds), keep the app open until export completes, and retry if you see an "expired" message. See the troubleshooting section in the guide.
How do I connect X for posting?
Create an app at developer.x.com with OAuth 2.0 PKCE, set callback to http://127.0.0.1, enable tweet and media scopes, then paste the Client ID in Settings and click Connect X Account.
Where is my Vault data stored?
On your computer only — in the app's local data folder (SQLite). We do not host your images, videos, or prompts on Recon6 servers.
Where do I download Mac and Windows builds?
From the homepage — Mac (Apple Silicon .dmg) and Windows (.exe installer). Windows is served from Cloudflare R2; Mac from the site. Email recon_6@icloud.com if a link fails.
Mac vs Windows?
Both platforms are supported. The Mac build is Apple Silicon (aarch64). Windows installer ships with the same launch. Both include bundled ffmpeg for Editor features.
Is Grok / xAI included in the app price?
The app is free to install. You pay xAI directly for API usage when you generate images, video, or captions. Usage is shown in Settings.
